The DrAlienSmith Deluxe Kick Mount is a clamp and ball joint microphone mounting system that replaces mic stands for your internal and external kick drum microphones. The DKM holds your microphone securely and gives maximum flexibility for positioning while shock absorbing vibrations from the drums.
 
Unlike rim mounted systems, the DKM attaches to surrounding hardware, not the drum itself. For internal mounting inside the kick drum, the DKM fixes to the bottom of the tom mount bar and for external mics, it can fix to the kick drum leg. The DKM doesn't stop there, it can also fix to cymbal stands for snare and tom mics.
 
Physical vibrations are absorbed and blocked at 6 points by the DKM. Each of the 4 ball joints and the 2 clamp inserts are made from thermoplastic polyurethane so the DKM is a very effective shock absorber for whatever microphone it is holding. The inserts also provide scratch and scuff protection to your mics and stands, no part of the DKM has a metal to metal connection.
 
The strength of this ball joint system is second to none. The DKM uses larger 1 inch ball joints, providing a larger grip surface area than standard rim mounts. Once the 2 tightening points are locked in, the DKM will keep your mics in rock solid position with no sagging over time.
 
Included with the DKM is a mic stand thread attachment and 2 inch extender. Use these for mics with their own clip or mics that have a built in thread next to the xlr socket (like the Beta52a). It also comes with a soft case, 2 different sized clamp inserts and some rubber strips to use for fine clamp adjustments plus a manual.
